NYLT Campout for Junior Leaders

NYLT is a six-day course for junior leaders to learn new leadership skills that align with the traditional strengths of the Scout experience. Troop 61 sent two of their junior leaders, boys going into high school or in high school, to this leadership training. NYLT models a month of the perfect troop, with three troop meetings, one meeting to plan an outing, and then a campout. Our two junior leaders who went to this course learned so much about how to become a better example for younger scouts and better ways to get all scouts more involved with leadership positions, campouts, and other special events. In the future, our junior leaders will implement the critical lessons they learned from NYLT into Troop 61.
